MEV XL Demonstration at Newport City Council

Newport City Council recently had the opportunity to experience the MEV XL firsthand, exploring how a compact electric utility vehicle could support a wide range of everyday local authority operations.

Council teams often work across varied environments, from estates and facilities to maintenance, parks, local deliveries and general site support. These duties require vehicles that are practical, easy to manoeuvre and efficient to operate — areas where the MEV XL is designed to perform particularly well.

During the demonstration, the Newport City Council team was able to inspect the vehicle, assess its usability and consider how it could fit within existing operational requirements.

With zero tailpipe emissions, quiet operation and lower running costs compared with many conventional vehicles, the MEV XL offers a practical option for organisations looking to reduce environmental impact without compromising day-to-day capability.

The latest MEV XL also delivers 50% more capacity and 50% more range, giving teams greater flexibility while retaining the compact footprint that makes it ideal for busy urban environments, pedestrian areas and operational sites.

A big thank you to everyone at Newport City Council who took the time to join the demonstration, explore the vehicle and share their feedback.

Demonstrations like this are a valuable opportunity to show how the MEV XL performs in real working environments and how it can support cleaner, more efficient local operations.
