Founded in 1209 and recognised globally for academic excellence, the University of Cambridge continues to advance initiatives that support sustainability and reduced emissions while maintaining the operational efficiency of its historic and expansive campus.
As universities work toward ambitious environmental targets, the need for practical, low-emission solutions across estates, facilities, and internal transport becomes increasingly important. Operational vehicles play a vital role in day-to-day campus activities, and transitioning these fleets toward cleaner alternatives presents a meaningful opportunity to support institutional sustainability goals.
This is where My Electric Vehicle (MEV) aims to contribute. During the recent MEV XL demonstration at the University of Cambridge, the team had the opportunity to explore how electric utility vehicles can support the operational needs of large and dynamic campus environments while helping reduce emissions.

The MEV XL is designed to provide a practical solution for organisations seeking to balance sustainability with capability. With zero-emission performance, robust payload capacity, and multiple configuration options, the vehicle can support a wide range of campus operations—from estates maintenance and facilities logistics to internal transportation across large sites.
We were particularly grateful for the warm welcome extended by Paul, whose engagement and insights made the demonstration both productive and enjoyable. His openness to exploring innovative technologies reflects the forward-thinking mindset that continues to define the University of Cambridge.
Partnerships between institutions and clean mobility innovators are essential in accelerating progress toward environmental targets. By evaluating electric utility vehicles such as the MEV XL, organisations can take practical steps toward reducing operational emissions while maintaining the efficiency required to support their communities.
At MEV, our vision is to support institutions like the University of Cambridge in achieving their sustainability ambitions by providing reliable, zero-emission vehicles that integrate seamlessly into everyday operations.
Together, through collaboration and shared commitment to environmental responsibility, we can continue building campuses that are not only operationally effective but also environmentally sustainable for generations to come.
