MEV XL Takes on Orkney

The MEV XL recently made the journey to Orkney for a demonstration with Orkney Islands Council, combining real-world testing with one of Scotland’s most striking island settings.

The visit began with the ferry crossing before the vehicle took to Orkney’s roads, giving the team the opportunity to see how a compact electric utility vehicle could support everyday island operations.

For councils working across dispersed communities, transport must be practical, dependable and suited to a wide range of duties. The MEV XL is designed for exactly that kind of environment. Its compact size makes it easy to handle on narrower routes and busy working sites, while its adaptable body options make it suitable for estates, maintenance, facilities, parks, deliveries and local service work.

The demonstration allowed council personnel to explore the vehicle closely, ask questions and consider where it could fit within their own operations.

We would like to thank everyone at Orkney Islands Council who welcomed the team and took the time to experience the MEV XL.

With Orkney’s coastline, open landscapes and island roads as the backdrop, the visit showed how cleaner transport can remain practical, capable and ready for real work.
